Linux

Ubuntu and CentOS are the main distros supported.

Ubuntu 24.04 is supported starting with ZEDFREE/ZEDPRO 2025.1

CentOS 7 uses version 2023.5 natively.

Rocky Linux 8 must use 2023.5 version for CentOS 7.

Rocky Linux 9 may be used with 2023.5 version, by adding compat-openssl10 downloadable at the following addresss: https://dl.rockylinux.org/pub/rocky/8/Devel/x86_64/os/Packages/c/compat-openssl10-1.0.2o-4.el8_6.x86_64.rpm

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9 version may be used by adding compat-openssl10 downloadable at the following addresss: https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/compat-openssl10/1.0.2o-4.el8_6/x86_64/fd431d51/package

ZEDFREE/ZEDPRO may be installed on other distributions, using the package manager they use and adding various packages.

Ubuntu package (.deb) can be used on Ubuntu and on Debian by installing some more packages.
CentOS package (.rpm) can be used on CentOS, Red Hat, Fedora.

Note that the packages require Qt packages in version 4, which are not installed by default on some recent distros.

Please refer to the distro documentation on how to setup Qt4 libs.

ZEDFREE and ZEDPRO version can natively use smart cards that use the following middleware, with the lib path listed below.

If your middleware uses another path, you can try to use a symbolic link to the path referenced.

Citrix, TSE, RDS and other remote desktop environments

Due to the activation mechanism, ZEDPRO is not compatible with Citrix, RDS or similar systems.

Only ZED! Enterprise version may be used in these systems.
